Ferrous Gluconate 300mg Iron Tablets

1. Dosage: Commonly taken once daily, but may be divided into 1–3 doses as advised by a healthcare provider.
2. Ideal to take on an empty stomach (1 h before or 2 h after meals); if stomach upset occurs, it may be taken with food.
3. Continued for several weeks to months until iron levels normalize

Active: Ferrous gluconate 300 mg (≈35 mg elemental iron)

Inactive: Typical fillers and coatings such as microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica, talc, polyethylene glycol, colorants (e.g., titanium dioxide, food dyes)

WARNING

• Can cause stomach discomfort, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, and dark stools.
• Seek medical attention if experiencing severe abdominal pain, vomiting, blood in stools, or signs of overdose (especially in children).
• Not suitable for hereditary iron overload conditions like hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, or hemolytic anemia.
• Avoid concurrent use with antacids, calcium, dairy, tea, coffee, or certain antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones), as these reduce absorption.
