For children over 2 years old:

• Use sparingly—gently massage a small amount of vapour rub onto the chest, particularly at bedtime to ease breathing.

For older children and adults:

• Rub a moderate amount onto the chest and neck. Alternatively, add 1 teaspoon to ½ pint of hot (not boiling) water and inhale the vapours for 5 to 10 minutes.

Caution: Always take care when using hot water to avoid burns.
